About Tessel & Beam

A small firm that stays with your project.

We started as two joiners fitting kitchens and grew into a design-and-build team that handles the whole job: drawings, trades, materials and the clean-up.

You meet the person who will run your project on the first visit, and they are the one who hands you the keys back.

What we renovate

Kitchens, bathrooms and the whole house.

Pick a room to see how we approach it. Every project starts with a measured visit and a fixed written quote.

Why homeowners choose us

Four promises we put in writing.

Renovation is disruptive. These are the things we commit to before the first wall comes down.

  1. One fixed quote

A written price before work starts; changes are agreed in writing first.

  2. One project lead

The same person from the first visit to the final walk-through.

  3. A clean home every evening

Dust sheets, sealed doorways and a swept site at the end of each day.

  4. A written guarantee

Workmanship covered for a set period after handover.

Example commitments — set the guarantee period and wording in the site settings.

How a project runs

From measured visit to handover.

Four stages, each ending with something you can hold: a survey, a price, an update, a signed-off list.

  1. Stage 1

    Visit and measure

We look at the rooms, listen to how you use them and measure everything.

    You receive: a measured survey

  2. Stage 2

    Design and fixed quote

Drawings, finishes and a written price, revised until it is right.

You receive: drawings and a fixed price

  3. Stage 3

    Build

Trades booked in order, the site kept clean, the project lead on site every week.

    You receive: a weekly update

  4. Stage 4

    Handover

A walk-through together, snags fixed, guarantee papers handed over.

You receive: a signed-off snag list

Planning questions

Two to three months before you want work to start is typical, and design takes a few weeks of that (example timing).

We prepare the drawings and tell you on the first visit if any permission or notice is likely to be needed.

Yes. We price and build from their drawings and keep them in the weekly update.

Budget and quote questions

Yes, for the agreed scope. Any change is priced and agreed with you in writing before it happens.

Payment stages are set out in your contract (configurable in the site settings).

The quote lists exclusions line by line, such as appliances you buy yourself.

Living through the work

Usually. We seal off the work areas and plan a temporary kitchen or bathroom where one is needed.

Some days are loud; we say which in the weekly update, and we clean up every evening.

Our own joiners and fitters, plus named, insured trades you meet before they start.

Guarantee questions

Our workmanship for a set period after handover (example; the period is set in the site settings).

Manufacturers' warranties pass to you with the paperwork at handover.

Call your project lead. We come back and put it right.
